 “R-EVOLUTION [MEANINGLESS LIFE]” CHE MARCHESI

José Eugenio Marchesi (Madrid, 1963)  presents at the Blanca Soto gallery Arte Craneozoides I, an installation belonging to his most recent project,  ®evolution.

®evolution is an artistic review of our relationship with Science,  myths and  religion; a reflection  about our most remote past.

As in his previous work, Scientific Livestock (his particular tribute to those animal species at the service of science and man), Marchesi structures this ambitious project in different milestones or sections. On the one hand there are the  Paleotransformations: images of extinct hominids based on our current appearance, on the other the Relics: true, historical and religious relics in the form of gold-stewed fossils or mythical bones,_cc781905-5cde -3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_ in addition to the Zoographies: empty taxidermy of all content; and lastly and especially, the Craniozoids.

Craniozoides I, the work that makes up this first exhibition, is a sculptural installation made up of thirty-eight of them that are directed towards the LIGHT. All of them in a crazy race to win, just like the sperm,  the womb of the maternal egg that guarantees survival.

The end of the race is marked by a circle of vital light in which everyone fights to enter and only a few succeed... Suspended in the air, following the patterns of the_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b -136bad5cf58d_ sperm, schools of fish or flocks of birds en  movement...in short, the nonsense of evolution expressed in craniozoids._cc581900 -bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
