THE INNER AND THE DEEP PART OF NATURE
Imanol Marrodán

19 abril - 22 mayo 2013

Calle Almadén 13, Madrid

On this occasion, to show his work, we will be able to see how the artist Imanol Marrodán (Bilbao 1964) prefers to share his work in a cabinet or laboratory-provisional studio format. More than a proper exhibition of “finished” objects and ideas, the author shows what the various main themes or ways of working have been that have been of interest to him. Various apparently independent behavioral lines, with simpler semiotic and conceptual structures, converge here in an Atlas or compendium to form a more complex “mixed” language, in various ways that relate the personal experiences of the author. Proposals that cover various creative processes such as photography, video, sculpture, drawing or painting, among others.

In this way, an incomplete "puzzle" or open conceptual framework of intermingled ideas is consciously shown, where the viewer will have to search and relate, through their experiences, drawing their own conclusions.

The common reflection where the different discourses proposed by the author seem to converge is the duality between reason and intuition, between a society and thought or education, artificially constructed by man in front of our own origin and context within nature itself. . Confrontation between nature and artifice. It would be what the myth of the cave would define as the apparent visible world of false beliefs and the intelligible world of ideas or true knowledge.  Paradox and contradiction in the identity and way of life of the individual .
