"YOU. IT IS PART OF A WORK OF ART”. JOSECHU DAVILA

 

After selecting a 480 x 937 m2 urban rectangle as a work of art, the 36,720 people who live within it were informed by means of Notifications numbered correlatively from 00001 to 36720, of their belonging to this work. The rectangle is delimited by SERRANO, DIEGO DE LEÓN, CONDE DE PEÑALVER and JOSÉ ORTEGA Y GASSET streets. Each Notification corresponded to a Receipt-Copy equally numbered. With all of these Reservations, the rectangle inside the room was built to scale, leaving all the inhabitants represented by a number.

 

The installation proposes a timeless approach that will be reflected in a commitment to deliver Notifications to future and past inhabitants of the rectangle.
